They knocked it out of the park!Īnd to be fair (to the guys), X-plane has a very good treatment of the physics, and Bohemia made a strange decision on in the default A3 FM. I do hope that they are still around though. On a modding side, there's almost no documentation on their xml interface. I've tried recently to interact with them to no avail. The downside? I don't think the company exists anymore. I have used JSB, X-plane, and RTD smokes them all in terms of accuracy and cusomizeability. the RTD dynamics model is absolutely THE BEST commercially available flight dynamics model in any video game. Making autopilots, especially ones that have mode selectors, is almost impossible natively.īUT. This means that things like finite state machine selectors while possible within the framework, are locked out.
#SIMS 3 HELICOPTER WORKING MOD#
I can't add functionality to it from a mod side, only program the way the helicopter flies. RTD (the AFM) is pre-compiled into a library. About the only thing the game lacks is a real API to allow SQF interact better with the flight model side of things when using AFM. Things like fuel, electrical, system logic, and even to some extent autopilots are all acheivable. There are some limitations, but we acheived a lot in the overhaul of the AH-64.
#SIMS 3 HELICOPTER WORKING FULL#
The RV engine definitely has the capability to do full systems modeling. It's mostly down to the motivation and interest of the developer. Maybe p3d too but I don't have much experience with helis there.
That being said MSFS doesn't officially support helicopters yet (afaik they are planning on adding support in 2022) and the only worthwhile heli is the bell 47 that has a completely standalone flight model.īut by proper sims for helis I was thinking mostly xplane. Proper sims or just DCS? Last I checked the community was losing its collective shit about freeware heli that's easier to fly than my quad drone.Īre you talking about the H135/H145 for MSFS? I agree with them being shit simulations (but great for sight seeing). But other than that I played mostly in semi-public communites that had huge mod lists. "mike force" is a really fun persistent campaign.
The only time I played vanilla arma MP was after the last vietnam CDLC. Shame then, vanilla little bird is actually pretty good in terms of physics (and somehow retained a working dashboard from TOH) Descending towards Salzsburg by /u/Santi871.IRC : freenode #reddit-flightsim #upvoteva Flight Sim Internet RadioĪVSIM Library (freeware - account required) More about our rules can be found here: /r/flightsim/about/rules.
